After the show, guests will get the chance to browse the store during a reception that will include refreshments.

“We are hoping to have more than 200 guests,” said Stull.

Last year Corbie, along with Ashland sports boosters, hosted a fashion show that helped pay for new trophy cases for the school. That show raised more than $4,000, he said. This year, Stull hopes to raise more than that to help the museum continue restorations on the building.

“There is a lot of work that needs to be done, and this is a great way to help,” he said.

Cheryl Thompson, who is a model for the event on Sunday, said she wanted to participate in the fashion show because she enjoys the museum and being able to take her grandchildren to it. As she kept looking at her outfit, she shared many compliments with Stull about the clothing and the quality.

“I’m going to have to buy me this outfit when I’m done,” said Thompson. “This outfit is just me.”

Tickets to the fashion show are $20 and can be purchased at the museum, Corbie or the Ashland Greenhouse.

Critics of the move, including Republican leaders like Paul Ryan, fear a trade war could be looming. The European Union has already threatened new tariffs on American exports if Trump’s proposal becomes reality. Trump says trade wars are “good, and easy to win.”
