It’s been a common occurrence in Burke County for furniture companies to announce their closing.
But a homegrown furniture company plans to hire more workers, thanks to a contract with Ralph Lauren Home, a division of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation.

All of the upholstery will be done in Morganton, Jokinen said, and the company will make an effort to make a lot of its wood product in Burke County as well.
Jokinen said the company could start hiring additional workers within the next month to six weeks. The company will advertise its job openings, he said.
Henredon used to hold the contract with Ralph Lauren Home, Jokinen said. Henredon announced it was closing in September 2007.
